Symptom

You bought a domain externally and operate its web space at another provider. Yet you want to operate one or more subdomains of that domain as a Bitpalace web space.

Solution

In your web space control panel you find three buttons: “Add domain”, “Add subdomain” and “Add domain alias”. Normally, when you add a subdomain you click the “add subdomain” button. But this won’t work here, because the account is missing the superordinated domain of that subdomain , the main domain.

While you want to add a subdomain, in this case you should click “Add domain”, because your subdomain will work with your Bitpalace web space like a main domain. That the main domain has a prefix in this case (the subdomain), is of no interest to the web server.

When you want to use all functions of your web space with a sub domain, add the sub domain with “Add domain”. Treat the subdomain the same like any other domain.

For the subdomain to become accessible on the Internet, add an A record to domain’s name server entry and point the record to the IP address of your Bitpalace web space.
